vpodarok.ru — the reincarnation of the gift marketplace

Task

vpodarok.ru — a large marketplace for gift certificates and multicards. By 2017, the Yii1 project, which we had been supporting since 2014, was stuck in architecture: new integrations with partner brands and cloud storage became increasingly difficult, and the workload grew.

Decision

We redesigned the project from scratch in seven months, without stopping sales. Backend — Laravel and PostgreSQL, frontend — Vue.js and Nuxt.js with Inertia for the admin panel. Background processes (certificate issuance, integration with partners, notifications) — via RabbitMQ and Redis, realtime statuses — via WebSockets. The infrastructure was moved to Yandex Cloud, deployment via GitLab CI, monitoring by Grafana and Loki.

A group of services grew up around the marketplace, which we developed in the following years: the motivation platform vpodarok.ru/bonus , end-to-end authorization service, multichannel mailing lists, data connector, vendor cabinet and embedded widget, API documentation service.

Result

The project has been alive and developing for more than eight years — this is the longest support in our practice. The multicard is exchanged for certificates from more than 250 brands, and the architecture has sustained growth from a single site to an ecosystem of services with shared authorization and analytics.
